Whether you are taking a road test for your driver's license or need license plates for your new car, the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) is the place for all things related to driving in the Commonwealth.
There are 29 RMV locations across Massachusetts, including one full-service office in Boston: the Haymarket RMV Service Center.
Getting to the Haymarket RMV
The Haymarket RMV Service Center is located in downtown Boston, just north of Boston City Hall at 136 Blackstone Street. The nearest T station is Haymarket, and the location is also walkable to Government Center, Bowdoin, and several nearby bus stops.
The office does not have onsite parking, and street parking on Blackstone and adjacent streets is limited. If you're driving to this location, your best bet is the 24-hour Government Center Garage on Sudbury Street, located one block to the west of the Haymarket RMV Service Center.
Boston RMV Hours
Whether you schedule an appointment or plan to drop in to complete your RMV task, the Haymarket RMV hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
There are also Saturday hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday hours are by appointment only for learner's permit, driver's license, and ID transactions. There are no walk-ins available during weekend hours.
