How does online drivers ed work?
It's simple. Create an account by choosing a username and password. We'll take you through the steps of enrolling in the course and give you some important information. Before you know it you'll be on the road to satisfying your Texas drivers education requirement!
Your course is available to you online 24/7. That means you can log in and out whenever you want and from any computer that has Internet access. At the end of the course there will be a final exam. According to TEA regulations, you are only allowed to take the final exam three times. If you fail the final exam for this course three times, you will have to take the course over again.
How do I get my drivers license if I'm over 18 and under 25 years old?

Step 1: Take a 6-hour Texas drivers education course
All new drivers over 18 and under 25 years of age who plan to earn a Texas drivers license need to take a 6-hour Texas drivers education course.

Step 2: Take the driving test for your Texas drivers license
When you're ready to take the driving test, make an appointment with your local DPS.
To take your driving test, you must:
- Have completed a 6-hour Texas drivers education course (if you are over the age of 18 and under 25).
- Show proof of birth date and legal presence.
- Show proof of insurance for the vehicle you will be using for your driving test.
How do I get my drivers license if I'm over 25?
All new drivers over the age of 25 who plan to earn a Texas drivers license need to pass a test. You can take this test by spending time waiting at the DPS and feeling stuffy while taking a supervised written exam, or you can take our adult drivers ed course for Texas and complete the test hassle free. Our course waives your need to go to the DPS!
Who must take Texas drivers education?
Texas law requires everyone between 18 and under 25 years of age who wish to obtain a Texas drivers license to complete a 6-hour drivers education course for adults.
If you're between 15 and 18 years old and seeking to earn your Texas learners permit (instruction permit), you'll need to complete a drivers education course for teens.

What is the difference between drivers education and drivers training?
- Drivers Education: a course that teaches you the rules of the road, vehicle safety, and everything that you need to know before you get behind the wheel for the first time. In Texas, every new driver under 25 years old must take a drivers education course in order to ultimately earn their drivers license. DriversEd.com provides drivers education courses for teens and adults.
- Drivers Training: the in-car driving lessons that you take with a licensed driving instructor. In Texas, if you are under 18, you must take 34 hours of drivers training.
How long will it take for me to finish the course?
That depends on your individual pace. In Texas, adults over 18 - under 25 years of age are required to take a 6-hour drivers education course. DriversEd.com will issue a full tuition refund:
- If you have not completed the Texas Adult Course and a Certificate of Completion has not been mailed.
DriversEd.com will not issue refunds:
- If you've completed the online course and a Certificate of Completion has been mailed.
