To get a copy of your VA driving records, you can do so online, by visiting a VA DMV customer service center, or by writing to the DMV.
At the moment, the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles offers the following types of driving records:
5-Year History | Issued primarily for insurance purposes | $8.00 fee |
7-Year History | Issued for employment purposes | $8.00 fee |
11-Year History | Issued if the purpose was not specified | $8.00 fee |
If you need a certified copy of your record, it will require an additional charge of $5.00.
If you'd like to apply by mail, simply submit a written request (including your full name, mailing address, social security number, payment for $8, and the reason for requesting your record) to the following address:
