Pennsylvania teens between the ages of 16 and 17 ½ years old can get their state drivers license with a completed drivers course and one year of time holding a learner's permit with no accidents or convictions. You'll need to get a learner's permit from the DOT, which requires the following:
Step 1: Submit a Medical Qualification Certificate
Step 2: Have a parent or guardian sign form DL-180
Step 3: Show your Social Security Card
Step 4: Pass a vision test
Step 5: Pass a knowledge test
