I went to First Class Auto in 2007. It made me a terrible driver. Like a refund would not be enough because I actually learned bad information. I had to spend time unlearning what I was taught there. I do not blame the teachers there too much, I mean they seem like good honest people. I spend a lot of time driving and their words hit me up from time to time and I think whoa that was weird advice. Sometimes when I talk about my driving teacher people say that is terrible. I would be a way better driver without going here. I mean it was cool to watch classics like Mechanized Death, but I could have done that on your own time. At least for an ISFP like myself it was a waste of not just the money to pay for it but just caused me a lot of anxiety down the road. I know my life is the way it is because of them and this is my life not another one. But it could have been better. I'm pretty sure they closed in 2011 though but just thought I'd say what I wanted to say.

I my self found that First Class Auto school was great. I never had ANY problems with Debra and or Lynn. MOST of these comments are from AGGANIS Drivers! SENT by the owner to try to close down First Class Auto School.

Teacher brought student to my St, Grace Dr. Not a problem, however, the teacher and student were totally unaware of conditions outside of the car. I stood in my driveway so they could see I needed to back out, then I slowly backed out hoping they would pull over, away from my driveway. Oblivious teacher has female student make a 3 pt turn at my driveway! I would NEVER send my kids to that school! I hope they have high liability ins with such incompetent teachers.

This school and all of its teachers are committed to teaching students the RIGHT rules of the road. Im a 16 yr old kid who went through a week of debs class's and have almost finished my road lessons. I can honestly say that i have never EVER regretted going to First Class. I have had so much fun at this place and yet i have learned even more from a dedicated and extremely smart teacher. One thing that I think is soooo stupid is that many of these comments are obviously written from another Auto School here in Wilmington. Some of these comments are so vulgar that its impossible to believe. And to any of you HOT heads who do believe these STUPID childish comments well get a life and look at the GOOD comments. Or should I say the True Comments!!!!!!!! Thanks Deb for actually teaching me how to not die or kill someone else with my car!!!

Deb is a great teacher. She uses real life experiences to teach us how to drive. I was taught how to operate a motor vehicle the correct way thanks to first class. Keep up the good work!!! :)

This driving school was excellent, they treated me with respect and excelled at a comfortable learning environment. i know other students feel the same way through conversations. I learned more here then i would have at any other driving school. Debra was exceptional along with the other driving instructors that allowed me to succeed with ease. i recommend for all students! You will be driving with perfection in no time! Thank you Debra for everything!

I agree that I did not like Deb as well. She was very cruel to another student while dropping me off. I also had to endure the conversations of her ex husband, which is ok for a 36 year old, but not for teens. There is another driver there if you get her she is great and that is the person I would recommend, I just can't remember her name.

This is possibly the worst driving school in the state. I did not learn a thing from this school. The classroom part was a horror show and deb was very rude and obnoxious. The only thing that she taught was about her and her husband bob doing pointless things together and their relationship. When i actually took the road lessons i didnt learn anything. in fact i never was even taken onto the highway and didnt learn how to parallel park until my last lesson. Deb Smith should be ashamed of herself

i went to first class auto and i am very glad i wenrt there. Deborah is an excellant teacher. She is great to be around but takes driving serious and really teaches you everything you need to know. Not only was deb great but the other instructors are just as great. The instructors make u feel really comfortable in the car and they made driving less nerve wrecking. All the people that say First Class Auto was a waste of money is not true. Driving is serious and First Class Auto teaches you everything u need to know. I wudnt have gone to a cheaper school if offered. I went to Deb's school and i have had my license for a year and a half now. Deb was very informative. Durimg the classroom sessions, she was very truthful about the dangers of driving reckless and let everyone know that driving is a privelage. She shared stories of accidents she was involved in due to other drivers on the road and her knowledge kept her alive. On road lessons, she would always be making sure you are alert and reading your signs. First Class was much more affordable than any other driving school and I highly recommend it to any new driver.

I went to First Class Auto and had a great time with all the teachers and Debra of course! They really made it fun for me but at the same time they showed me that driving is no joke!At FIrst Class Auto they taught me everything I need to know including how to be a safe driver. ALso at FIrst Class they really care about their students and they want everyone to do the best of their ability. IF someone felt the need that First Class Auto was not helping them then they are just fooling themselves when it comes down to driving. I want to say thank you to FIrst Class Auto for making me a better driver!!!

FirstClass? I'd rather call it NO Class! The positive reviews must be from the owner/employees of First class. Do not waste your money enrolling at First Class. I had 3 driving lessons with Deb, and I never learned anything. She had always been holding the steering wheel. She had me beat the red light on my first driving lesson. She charges $50 which is $25-$30 cheaper than other driving schools because it will probably take you at least 12 driving lessons before you learn the 3 pt turn, backing up and parallel parking. I switched to Agganis and on the first driving lesson they taught me 3 pt. turn and backing up. Second lesson I learned parallel parking.

I am currenly 21 years old and did drivers ed with Debbie at First Class Auto over five years ago. I was taught so much at this school and would never recomend anywhere else. Since then I have recomended this school to many friends and family members. I am still accident free thanks to what i learned here. Whatever I asked to learn,I was taught. The prices are reasonable and the staff is excellent. If you want to send your children to a reputable place where they will learn to be great drivers, First Class Auto is the place to go. Im guessing the negative reviews on this site are innacurate due to young kids having too much fun with their posts.

Unfortunately my son attended this school. After paying out over $100 more than what I was quoted for a "special", he came away with absolutely no knowledge of the "rules of the road". She shows up late, lets the kids out over an hour early at times and then complains when parents can't get there to pick them up in 5 minutes. She also sends the kids on errands to get her coffee and then complains when it isn't to her liking.

It makes me sad to see the efforts of a spastic, but excellent, owner/ teacher and an as excellent staff being bashed like this. Whoever mentioned immature kids telling their parents immature stories about the school, and then ultimately they get posted on a website like this, I agree with them. I'm only sixteen years old, and I'll be the first one to tell you the character of some of the kids I have taken lessons with are questionable, and they are the ones that bash the school. Perhaps it is the fact they need to sit in a classroom and learn for six hours? That's a real daunting task for some individuals, I can understand the frustration ;) I couldn't say a bad thing about this school, Deborah makes class interesting. People need to understand you don't learn to drive a car in the class, but you learn the rules of the road. It's up to a driver to learn those themselves, Deborah just extenuates the points made from the book and adds some experiences and stories to really bring the point home. I've never had trouble booking lessons, It's just a phone call away and I've always managed to get one when I wanted. The instructors in the car are awesome and really make you a much better driver. First Class Auto should be a standard for other auto schools.

I am a parent of a child who attended First Class Auto School and am happy with all aspects of the school thus far. Going through the course I learned countless lesson and facts about the road that I had never known before and without the help of instructer/owner Deborah I wouldn't be the successful driver I am today. This Auto School was worth every dollar. Every instructor involved in the school is most deffinetly professional and great at teaching their students how to operate the vehicles. Thank Deborah and Staff for all that you have taught me!!!

      A Relieved Father

My daughter has taken the classroom portion of this program and each day came home to tell me of what new things that she has learned form her instructor. She has been taking the road lessons and has reported back that she is being taught all of the things needed in order to pass her license test. In my observing my daughter drive, between her road lessons, I am seeing that the utmost attention is being paid teaching my daughter to focus first on being a careful and safe driver. She has reminded me of the things that I have forgotten over the many years since I received my license. There is an extreme focus on knowing the rules of the road. I agree completely with this and would not have it any other way. It appears that many of these reviews are written my those taking lessons. Maybe some of these reviewers are not used to taking criticism and just want to do things their own way. As a teacher and former youth coach, that does seem to be the case with the youth of today. Thank you First Class Auto School for taking some of the worry out of my child being taught the the proper skills to begin driving!!!!

I loved this school. Debra is great. She does tell a lot of stories, but they are interesting, related to driving, and they make an impact on you. She stresses how serious driving is and that you know the rules of the road. I reccomend this.

I did not pay $800 to send my daughter to school to listen about Debra's innapropriate life stories. The only thing my child is learning in this class is how immature and obnoxious her teacher is. She took away 95% of the class's phones(illegal by the way) and refers to everything as "retarded" and also refered to Everett as a place where the students "would not last" and a place "where bad people lived" that is where i was raised, thank you. The rest of the staff seems proffesional but this woman needs to be fired apap.

Do not make the mistake of signing up your child for this school. Deborah is totally unprofessional and unrealiable. She demands that the child be ready an hour before a schedule lesson and that she can be up to a 1/2 hour late. But my daughter cannot call unless she is a least a half hour late. Nice work if you can get it! She gossip to the students about other students. She has cancel four appointments, and on one occasions just bother never to show up. This women has issues and I would highly reccomend not using her for your child

i like the school because i learn a lot, it's not like they don't teach. debra's personality just makes it easier to learn about driving which could be a boring thing to learn about for 30 hours. and as far as road lessons go, they take them very seriously and make sure you learn everything you need to know before you go to the registry.

Deborah does get some safety points across to the kids, when they are not being yelled at for having a wrong answer or having to listen to her personal inapropriate stories of her and Bob, including a story of a woman in a restaurnat with her breast hanging low, nice subject for class with teenagers. Also spends alot of time running down other driving schools. I am hoping to get my childs driving lessons done. though in school now an you need to call between 10 and 2 to make a lesson. I am going to call although they have been told if the parents call they will not let us make the appointment, we will be told to have our student call. I wished I knew what I know now and would have never dealt with first class auto.

First Class Auto does a great job with teaching you the "rules of the road". They take the time and realize what you need more work on and what you are doing wrong. However, this school is not for a student who is looking to finish quickly. If you have the full six months to get classes and road lessons done, you should be fine. Im getting my liscence a month late due to a small difficulty to schedual road lessons quickly. Debra's stories are related to driving, although she may get off topic slightly. I deffinately learned alot and would recommend this school for the "non-rushing" drivers.

Can't get lessons for months. We price shopped and got screwed. No problem taking money for class then good luck getting your license on time or even close. I feel bad for the kids who wanted to drive by the end of the summer.

      mixed feelings

I'll start off with the good. This is a very good program. As people here have said, Debra is very serious about making sure you know your stuff before she lets you do anything and her goal of making sure you know how to drive as opposed to just passing the liscense test is very reassuring. Her assistant Nancy, whom i had for the last two classes, was very well trained. That being said, MUCH of my 8 hours every sunday and monday for a couple weeks was indeed filled with Debra's life story, how much she loves Bob, and how horrible we all are for even thinking of driving without knowing the rules of the road. She went so far as to call one particular rant at us her "Jewish guilt trip" which i thought was a very inappropriate remark to make to a group of high school students. She then went on to tell a story about how her husband and she went to a resturaunt and were amazed at how low a woman's breasts were on her chest, which again i found very much inappropriate. Sadly of the five 6-hour classes i had, the last two where she left and her assistant Nancy taught were the ones where we really learned what we needed. Nancy even commented to us as we left the last day, "remember what you learned, Debra loves Bob, you all are horrible people that just want to get your hours and get out, etc..." All in all, this is a really good program. I've yet to take any road lessons with them, but they have a strict no cell phones policy even if you're observing, and i've only heard good things about the lessons. Despite Debra's tendency to talk about completely off topic matters, she does hammer home points like don't drink and drive, learn the rules, etc. For a less refined high school student, the class would be very entertaining, but for someone like me who takes things seriously, i was very put off by Debra's attitude and mannerisms.

My husband and I have sent 3 of our very nervous learning drivers to First Class Auto. Each one of them came home from class with a greater appreciation for how serious learning to drive was. They conveyed to us that the staff of the school were very passionate about what they were teaching. I highly recomend this school. All 3 of our daughters are excellent drivers!! I thought the class was great and if you were listening to the stories you have heard that they were about driving! And you should be "ashamed" for not knowing the rules of the road. I really liked the school and how much they cared.

My instructor for the classroom portion of drivers ed was the most obnoxious person I had ever met. I learned more about her life story than I did about driving. When she is not telling long winded stories about herself and her family, she is scolding the students for not knowing what she has not taught. She repeatedly said throughout the course to several students that they should be "ashamed of themselves" for driving before knowing all of the rules of the road.

She really cares about whether her students can drive or not and she wont let them get there license until she knows it's safe for them to do so. She follows the rules and shes resposable. Thank you Erica
