This driving school is very unprofessional and Should be discredited. Brought our child here, as well as attended the adult class. Driving school told us the best route for a student to recieve their license would be to schedule the driving test through them, with their instructor and vehicle. Cost more but is most efficient and easier to schedule with the registry. My child completed all classes and driving instruction at the end of June. We scheduled a date for the driving test the next week through the school, as suggested. Driving school called a few days before and cancelled. They have since cancelled 4 times, and my child is still waiting to test for his license. I called the school several times and they could care less. Called the registry and they stated they do not cancel driving tests, it is the responsibility of the schools. We have since scheduled a test next week directly through the registry, not that difficult at all. Do not use this school!!!!!

      Test Taker

I would not recommend anyone take driving test here. I took my daughter to driving test and she was deliberately failed. Upon asking reason one of instructor told us - 1. There is no doubt in driving skills of your daughter she is driving absolutely fine and perfect 2. It just that examiner felt that she was driving little fast, immediately i inquired was it over speed limit to which he told no speed and no above speed. 3. I asked if she was not speeding and way within speed limits then how is it that she drove vehicle fast according to you to which he responded - New drivers should be driving very slow. 4. Examiner told that your daughter saw other vehicle approaching at intersection but she drove vehicle as my daughter was already stopped prior to this oncoming vehicle. Road test Examiners are really missing something known as right of way at street intersection. Whoever is first and halted has right to go first, while oncoming vehicle should stop at intersection wait for their turn. Our request were turned down and they defended their decision by it's all about safety and failed my daughter despite doing road test and everything that was asked to do on road test. Please avoid this location for taking test as it's not about driving skills and ability its perception of examiner whether they like your driving as per their choice irrespective of road condition, right of way or traffic. I was not fortunate to dream that this examiner love to see vehicle moving at speed of 5 to 10 MPH in traffic condition. He thinks if vehicle is moving fast enough at 20 MPH on the road of 25 MPH while there are other vehicles behind us.

      Oh please

Anyone noticing the very similar language in the positive reviews? Friendly, relaxed, etc. Interesting right? I'm assuming they work for the school. I thought it was awful. Your cigarette breaks and general dislike for your occupation are not my problems, but maybe my lack of real driving skills should be yours. (Oh hey, previous poster - do you have a problem with MY grammar? Or do you work there too?)

I am short for my age of 15, the moment I walked into the class Ron made a demeaning comment about by appearance, specifically, my height and my age. As the class laughed, I went along with it thinking the teacher was just trying to ease the tension, but it went on for the whole class. At one point, Ron made me stand up and compared my height to another student, humiliating me. He also referred to me as "scrawny". But this is not the only reason I am giving this school a poor review, the whole class, Ron was teaching us how to cheat the law by taking false pictures of speed limit signs in order to get out of a ticket. This was a bad experience for me and I did not return after the first day. I later joined a drivers ed school in Billerica, TriTown, and it was a much better experience with nice instructors, entertaining lessons, and impressionable presentations by Lieutenant Hannafin and the owner.

Do not come here for driving school. If you live in this general area of Massachusetts I'd reccomed Nashoba. I'm not a very critical person, but this auto school is a complete disappointment. You never know what you're going to get. Few instructors are nice and pleasant. I've only had one good instructor throughout all of my lessons, Marty. The rest are often late, smell like cigarettes, and are very condescending. The worst is Brian. At first, I thought he was just quiet and awkward and didn't want to talk to me. But soon I realized that this man was very quick tempered and obviously hates his job. He was very condescending towards me and didn't help me at all with any driving skills. He did not talk to me 95% of the drive, instead sat back while texting on his phone, completely oblivious to me. The only things that came out of his mouth the whole time was "NO!" or "turn left." Unless you want to Be made uncomfortable and silent then get Brian for an instructor. This auto school is not terrible, but I find that the instructors are the source of many problems. The actual classes are great and the price is a bargain, but is the price drop worth bad experiences with instructors and being unprepared for lisence tests? You'll have to decide that. I hope this review helped because I don't want other young drivers like me to be suckered into this like I was. Thanks.

Go somewhere else, these people are a disaster, they can't handle keeping appointments or even figure out their own schedules. I'm not happy I sent my kid to this school. I'll be talking to his high school about my concerns as well. They need to work with a better company.

This school sometimes you can't contact them. I had 8 driving lessons with them and most of the time the instructor brought me to the countryside to see the scenery and not to learn the techniques of defensive driving in a busy traffic areas. I had 1.5 hours of lesson per day ($80/day) but I actually spent half of the time waiting for the instructor to get his coffee from macdonalds, mailing his letter to post office, finishing his cigarette and coming early to the waiting area for the next student to come. Wasted my time and money, plus I didn't pass the road test because I didn't learn and experience much driving from this school. So I decided to get lessons from a different school this time.

This is a good school. I don't know what everyone is saying about them not answering their phones and such- I have never had an issue with that. In fact, the staff has always answered their phones and assisted me however I needed. Everyone is nice and friendly. The road instructors are all very different- some just let you drive and practice like someone who already has a license would drive, while others take the time to talk you through technical things that are likely to appear on a license test. I have done all of my road lessons through them and have yet to find a bad instructor, though I have heard that Paul is not as good as the others. Overall, though, I think it's a great school that will teach you exactly what you need to earn your license.

Have not entered the driving class. Tried to get a date for classes no one would answer the phone so I listed my class at Nashoba. Still need the driving and still no answer.

I attended the required classes and did all of my driving hours and observation, and was told on the last driving lesson that the certificate would be mailed out to the RMV and would take 7-8 days to process. Now here I am 1 Month later and still no certificate. During the 1 month I waited, I tried to call the school repeatedly everyday, but there was no answer. Finally I went to there Chelmsford Offices to find that know one was there. Finally, I got through to someone and they told me that I still owed money and that they changed there policy to not sendi out certificates until full payment. (The instructors never told me of this change of policy). This policy change does in the end make sense, but It would be nice to inform any currently enrolled students of this change prior to them waiting an Entire month for there drivers education certificate.

      Considering this school

I see really good comments and really rude ones. I'm not sure about the auto school now. Some of these comments seem exaggerated. Does any one have real feedback?

I love it. They're so friendly when you call to schedule road lessons. And each instructor is so different. Sometimes you'll get a laid back person who lets you just drive on your own as if you'd drive right after you'd get your license. Others are more technical and focus on explaining skills to you. I like the variety and look forward to my lessons.

The instructors are relaxed and really helped me out. The classroom instructor was funny and made the 6Hour Saturday class go by faster.

If you want to stay alive keep your children and your friends away from this school. The drivers always are late, smell of alcohol and cigarettes. My daughter took three classes from these guys and they were so rude and awful. What concerns me as a citizen and a parent is that they are half drunk when teaching the class to my daughter. We did a backround check on the owner and he has previous dui's and so do some of the instructors. The registry police are being notified.

Paul is a horrible driving instructor. His demeaning comments, constantly reaching over to grab the wheel, and his non stop brake use make driving safely impossible. He never says anything constructive and would much rather undermine your confidence in your ability to drive. AVOID GETTING PAUL AS YOUR DRIVING INSTRUCTOR!!!

I agree with Scott, Mike wasn't great (he stopped for gas, a pee break, and to chat with family while out with me) but he's no longer with the school. Most of the instructors are good. Al is my favorite, full of useful info and very funny to boot. You do not want to get Paul, the guy is dangerous. I had him twice (trying to cram lessons in) and he pulled various stunts like switching on my emergency blinkers to deter people who might want to pass me (huh?) and leaning over me to lean on the horn when he didn't like someone's driving. Who's the one who's going to get shot when he honks at a road rager I ask? Tim (the classroom instructor) is alright but can be annoying. He spends too much time trying to show he's down and hip and all those things he's not.

      Not recommend

During four classes I pre-booked with the school, twice the instructors were late (once 30mins, another time 20mins late). Once the instructor was 30mins early and urged me to come out, only once was on time.

      CAS's biggest fan

All you haters should probably learn to use proper grammar...if you can't produce a correct sentence, then I doubt you can drive a car. Very lovely business--the receptionists are pleasant, helpful, and extremely polite, and the driver's are exceptional!!! I highly recommend this school, they are great when it comes to accommodating student's with busy schedules.

This is a horrible experience because of instructors that bring you down one way streets the wrong direction and then getting pulled over by Chelmsford police. Instructors that don't show up when they schedule an appointment with you several days not just one incident. Then they don't provide certificate when asked for it unless you call them to remind them. If you have a choice go somewhere else.

Worst driving school and instructors.Instructors are just a reluctant to teach and just passing on time on phone. No specfic pointers given. Beware, in the scheduled time, they would stop for gas, pick up and drop students. Just a waste of time. Even worse with an instructor named Mike.

      A Spectator

The instructor is trying to be too smart or attempting to show off to his student or what?!! It would be good if lessons are avoided during peak traffic times on "no pass zone" roads. By making the student drive very slow is only adding to the already existing congestion. Then again, making the student to get in line with the passed car and stopping by the side to comment about overtaking them is even more stupid and conveys the arrogant attitude of the instructor. People know the rules, and they dont need an outside auto school instructor to instruct them about the rules in the middle of traffic stops at red lights. Thanks.
