Victor Manning is the best driving school in New Orleans, hands down. The staff were pleasant at all times, and asked how my day was when I entered the building for class every morning. The instructor, Vernon, was extremely well versed and very knowledgeable. I can tell you for a fact that they do not pass everyone to get money because, unfortunately, two of my friends have failed this class. As soon as I graduated from this course, I signed up for a 2 hour behind-the-wheel session and booked. Their services is great, their building not so much, and overall this is the best driving academy. It's disheartening to see other driving schools so obviously writing false reports on Victor Manning driving school and promoting their own brand. This is plain sickening and they should cease and desist immediately for slander. If you have any questions about my experience please contact me at (504) 579 - 2080.

I wanted to speak about the situation that took place with my girlfriend's experience at Victor Manning. She went there to take her driving test. The owner made her so nervous with his comments to her that as she parked the car at the end of the test she pressed the gas instead of the brake. The car hit the fence causing the fence to lean a little bit. He went ahead and passed her so she could get the license issued at the OMV. Shortly after that she began to receive phone calls from him. He was demanding money to pay for the fence which I found out Victor Manning didn't own the fence. The fence was leaning a little bit and that was the only damage. He left numerous messages stating he was going to have her license revoked if she didn't pay him money. I contacted the State and asked if a owner of a driving school could revoke someone's license. The answer was NO. Do yourself a BIG favor and check out other driving schools. Wish I could ZERO stars

Victor Manning charges $100.00 just for the 6 hour portion of the 14 hour course. It was $50.00 then they went up to $60.00. Now it's $100.00 since they know they can't schedule you for the 8 hours behind the wheel for months. They tell you to wait for an opening or go to another school for the driving portion. By the time you use two schools you've way over paid the going price of $400.00 total for the 14 hour course. This company is all about padding their pockets not about educating the customers on driving. Also if you took the class in August who wants to wait until December to complete the driving. Do yourself a favor. Choose another school.

Beware when you buy a 38 hours package (30 classroom + 8 hours behind the wheel), what that means is that you will go to a 4-day class and complete the 30 hours - then call back the next week to book 4 sessions of 2 hours each to come back for behind the wheel. The backlog for this is intense. So it could take you a month to get finished! This should be apparent upfront and it is not!

DEAR C.T. Lunch breaks at the JCC in Metairie are always long because there is no place to eat around there. Because of this the students have to walk a great distance. As a result of your complaint, we have now required all students to bring their lunch so their instruction can begin again within the hour. The "D-Baby" comments were very innocent and have been explained in the previous response. In conclusion: This day and age 15-18 y/o's are ALL about texting, Facebook and Instagram. The reason Victor Manning has been able to remain THE OLDEST DRIVING SCHOOL IN THE UNITED STATES is by keeping up with the times. We have no problem with our employees utilizing the latest technology.

DEAR DANIELLE: As you know, there is always two sides to every story (in this case 3). Here is ours.... This instructor is very professional and has been employed with us for almost 20 years! During her classroom instruction, she does mention that when someone goes to the OMV they must use their real name. As an example, she states that Little Wayne (whom was raised within 3 miles of the JCC) must use his real name and not "Little Wayne". As a second example ,she stated her friend calls her "D-Baby", and that the OMV would not let her put that on her drivers license. Obviously this was a joke to lighten up the 30 HOURS of state mandated classes. She never requested anyone to refer to her by that name. This instructor only schedules half of the class because there is another instructor who schedules the other half (and did so). As far as her apparel, uniform shirts have now been issued to all the instructors at Victor Manning. And I must say, they look very professional! Thank you for your comments, however if you would have spoken to us at 504.455.2103 or the JCC, we could have handled this matter at the time it was occurring.

Danielle I know exactly who you're talking about! I had her as my instructor at the Metairie J.C.C. I don't know which class yall had but in mine she didn't let us have any breaks cause she said she'd give us a 2 hr lunch. I was cool with it but she didnt show up until way after the 2 hrs was up. She told us she had a job interview she had to go to but she turned it down cause she didnt want to work nights and be away from her wife. I don't care if someones gay or not but she kept making sure we knew she had a wife at home. I didn't even know same sex marriage was legal down here yet. She also told us her name was D Baby too. She said she was a real rapper like C-Murder and real rappers don't give out there real names. At first I thought she was joking with us but she wasnt. She also told us to follow her on instagram before we left the class. I dunno why a 50 year old woman wants us to follow her on instagram but whatever. This woman is a joke!

I sent my child over to the J.C.C. in New Orleans several weeks ago and was extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism. The instructor for the course introduced herself as "D-Baby" so I don't know her actual name. She was extremely rude to not only my child but several other children as well. She only scheduled certain kids for the driving portion after the course was over and told the rest that they had to wait to be scheduled. When my child asked why she wasn't scheduled and others were, "D-Baby" got very ugly with her and told her she didn't have to give her a reason. Also the clothes the instructor was wearing was reprehensible. My child actually took a picture of her to show me and I was horrified to say the least. Every time this woman leaned over the top half of her butt would stick out for the whole class to see. Its clear from these pictures that she isn't wearing any underwear. Not to mention the holes in her pants or the tight shirt with her belly hanging out. I am appalled that Victor Manning would allow an instructor like this to go out and represent their company. I have two other children and after this experience I highly doubt I will be sending them there.

All schools are booked solid in the summer. Thats our busiest season. We have the most cars of any school (6). We could buy more and hire a few more drivers, but then we had to lay off people in winter. We choose not to do that. I wish you wouls have spoken to me so I could have helped you.

There is a huge backlog for the behind the wheel portion of the course. You don't find this out until after you have paid in full for the course.I do not recommend this school to anyone! It's my opinion that they overbook to make more money and don't care about providing satisfactory service.Who wants to wait two months after the class to drive.Very disappointment and wish I could get a refund!

Response to parent (previous post). The students get two 15 minute breaks and a 1/2 hour lunch break. Our administration is always available to address any and all concerns by parents and students. We find a PHONE CALL or a personal visit very effective. You could have also contacted us via our website at www.victormanningdrivingschool.com I can assure you that the times your child quoted are inaccurate. Thanks for visiting Victor Manning Driving School. Professional Driving Instruction Since 1932!

My child just finished this course. I had previously sent my older child and was very satisfied. This time however not so much. The class started at 9 and should have ended at 5. On both weekends my child said they took many breaks at least 30 minutes long, lunch should have been 45 minutes, was actually an hour or more. Classes should have ended at 5 and on all four days over the 2 weekends none ended at 5, they were over at 4:30 or sooner. Parents plan around the advertised schedule. I think they should reduce their cost if it's not going to last as long as what you are told.

This school sucks, they pass everyone at this school even if they passed or failed. they charge people for DWI & Defensive class and they don't even teach those classes. you are paying for the six hour class and being charge more for the same materials. one of their instructor threaten the owner and staff at this location. the receptionist sheron dislike black people as well as vernon. I will recommend everyone to go to new orleans safe driving school. this school is a poor place to send your kids or any adults go to.

I just called to find out more about the driving school. The woman who answered was downright nasty and treated me as if I was bothering her. I finally found out the information I needed, but only after pulling it from her. I don't know who this Victor Manning person is, but if he is anything like the woman he has working for him - I would not trust my dog to take something as important as driving lessons from him. I read the reviews and was not surprised at what most people thought of this school. We are going to Safe Driving of N.O. - they had a website, are registered with the BBB AND the lady that answered the phone was kind and helpful. Do your homework... not all driving schools are the same!!!
