INDIANA ONLINE TEEN DRIVER EDUCATION
DriversEd.com, hereafter referred to as the "COURSE PROVIDER", is certified by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles to offer an Indiana online Teen Driver Education course, hereafter referred to as the "COURSE".
ACCEPTANCE OF CONTRACT TERMS
The following are the terms of a legal agreement between you, hereafter referred to as the "STUDENT," the student's parent or guardian, herinafter referred to as the "PARENT," and the COURSE PROVIDER. By accessing, using, and/or browsing this site, the STUDENT and PARENT acknowledge that THEY have read, have understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement:
The course tuition in the amount of $74.95 will be charged to the STUDENT. This fee includes all required instructional materials and must be paid in full prior to course completion.
To take the course, the STUDENT must be at least 15 years of age.
The COURSE is composed of 30 hours of instruction, divided into 15 modules of two hours each. The STUDENT must complete 1800 minutes of instruction and spend the minimum time required to participate in each section of the course. If a STUDENT reaches the end of a module without having spent the minimum time required for that section, the STUDENT shall be required to review modules that have already been completed until the full two-hour period has elapsed. The STUDENT may participate in the COURSE for a maximum of 3 hours per day.
The COURSE will be available to the STUDENT online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This availability may be affected by circumstances over which the COURSE PROVIDER has no control over such as, but not limited to, system, site or connectivity failure. The COURSE will be made available for 270 days from registration. If the COURSE is not completed within the allotted time, the STUDENT will need to restart the COURSE and repay the COURSE tuition.
GRADING AND PROGRESS POLICY
At six intervals throughout the course, the STUDENT shall be required to successfully pass a content comprehension quiz, hereafter referred to as "SECTION QUIZ." Each SECTION QUIZ shall consist of 20 or 25 questions. The STUDENT shall be given one opportunity to complete each SECTION QUIZ, and the score HE/SHE receives shall represent 10% of the STUDENT'S comprehensive score for the course, hereafter referred to as "COURSE GRADE."
Moreover, the STUDENT must complete a final examination at the end of the COURSE, which shall consist of 50 questions. The score the STUDENT receives on the final examination shall represent 40% of the COURSE GRADE. Before taking the final examination, the STUDENT shall be given the opportunity to complete a practice examination an unlimited number of times.
Once the STUDENT has completed and submitted HIS/HER final examination, the COURSE GRADE shall be calculated. The STUDENT agrees that HE/SHE may not receive credit for the course unless HE/SHE receives a COURSE GRADE of 80% or higher. In the event that the student's COURSE GRADE is less than 80%, HE/SHE may take the final examination up to two (2) additional times to achieve the 80% score. After a third failure, the STUDENT has failed the COURSE and HE/SHE must start the COURSE over from the beginning.
Alternative testing techniques for students with reading, hearing or learning handicaps and policies for re-testing students who score less than 80% will be a) online review of course material; and b) online re-testing.
