• Parent-Taught Drivers Ed (PTDE)

• Minimum age to begin: 14
 
Texas Instruction Permit Instructions
1. Submit form to enroll in PTDE
2. Complete 6 hours of PTDE
3. Be at least 15 years old
4. Pass the Instruction Permit test
5. Continue PTDE
TX Parent-Taught Drivers Ed
The program allows parents to teach their teen (14–17 yrs old) to drive. The course consists of two concurrent areas of instruction:
1. Drivers ed coursework
2. Behind-the-wheel training

This online TX drivers education course provides everything needed to successfully complete both parts of PTDE.
